Dr Chiara D'Anna is one of the leading Commedia dell’Arte practitioners in the UK. Her workshops and courses offer a fresh and dynamic approach to Commedia dell’Arte, blending tradition with contemporary theatre-making.
As both an academic and a working artist, Chiara’s teaching is deeply informed by years of professional experience in theatre, opera, and film alongside her PhD. Her research focusses on the legacy of Commedia dell'Arte in post-dramatic theatre focusses on the centrality of the actor in devised performance.
This combination of academic rigour and artistic practice sets Chiara apart as one of the most innovative Commedia practitioners working today.
She currently teaches Movement on the MA Theatre Lab at RADA and works as Associate Lecturer at Goldsmiths University in London. She is also head of faculty at the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy.
