We will explore The Servants (Zanni, Arlecchino, Brighella, Colombina), The masters (Pantalone and il Dottore), the Captain and the Lovers.
● The Techniques
Techniques studied will comprise body awareness, physical and vocal transformation, slapstick, body-voice connection, comic timing, composition in space, entrances and exits, audience rhythm, tempo-rhythm improvisation and audience interaction.
● Creative Exploration: Contemporary Scenarios
Commedia dell'Arte's techniques, style and characters are utilised as a starting point to develop our own characters and stories taking inspiration from contemporary personalities and current affairs. We will develop our own canovacci (plot-line).
