Featuring: Musicians Of The Budapest Festival Orchestra


A new creative version of Le bourgeois gentilhomme and the opera of Richard Strauss, Ariadne of Naxos. A group of Commedia dell’arte actors present the ancient Greek story of Ariadne in the form of an opera. In the first half of the evening, the orchestra will play the Suite of Le bourgeois gentilhomme by Richard Strauss while the Commedia dell’Arte characters prepare the stage for the opera that will follow after the intermission.


Running Time: approx 3hours (incl. interval)


A joint production by the BFO, Müpa Budapest and the Iván Fischer Opera Company, Vicenza Opera Festival and Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi.
