A performance-presentation investigating the relationship between Commedia all’Improvviso, mountebanks and the market-place. A reconstruction of the atmospheres of the 16th century piazza, the heart of the town, a meeting place and a point of exchange. The piazza is the place where the popular and professional theatre developed from a ‘carnivalised culture’ and where the language of the people was shaped.
